What is the CIDB Green Card test?
The CIDB Green Card is the registration card every construction worker in Malaysia needs under section 33 of the CIDB Act 1994. Before registering, you must complete the Safety Induction for Construction Workers (SICW). In the online version, e-SICW, you study five modules and then sit a 50-question self-assessment, which you pass with 25 correct.
The exam format
| Questions | 50 objective questions |
|---|---|
| Time | 1 hour |
| Pass mark | 25 correct (50%) |
| Before the test | 5 learning modules, about 3 hours, within 14 days |
| Languages | 7 options, chosen once before the modules; the same language is used for the assessment |
| Retake | One free retake, from 1 hour after the first attempt and within 14 days |
| Fee | RM 60 including 8% SST (e-SICW CIDBH) |
| Eligibility | Malaysians aged 16 and over, and foreign workers with construction permits |
All figures are from the CIDB Holdings e-SICW application guidelines. Passing earns 5 CCD points. SICW is also run as a physical class by course providers. The guidelines do not list the seven languages; an English edition of the guidelines exists, but confirm the language options when you register.
